President's message

From the President

Dear Members, Friends, and Visitors,

Welcome to the Zarathushtrian Association of New Zealand.

It is an honour to serve as President of ZANZ and to be part of a community that continues to preserve, celebrate, and share our rich Zarathushtrian heritage here in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our faith and culture are built on the timeless principles of Humata, Hukhta, Huvarshta — Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds. These values guide us not only in our personal lives, but also in how we come together as a community, support one another, and contribute positively to the wider society in which we live.

ZANZ has always been more than an association. It is a home for our community — a place where families connect, children learn, young people participate, elders are respected, and our traditions are kept alive through prayer, education, culture, service, and fellowship.

As we look to the future, one of our key priorities is to strengthen community engagement across all generations. We want to create more opportunities for our children and youth to understand their identity, for families to feel connected, and for members to actively participate in shaping the future of our community.

We also recognise the importance of working with other communities, local councils, government agencies, and interfaith groups to promote understanding, respect, and unity. Our guiding spirit is Hamā Zor — Strength in Unity.

I encourage all members of our community to become involved, share ideas, volunteer where possible, and support ZANZ events and initiatives. Every contribution, whether large or small, helps us build a stronger, more connected, and more vibrant Zarathushtrian community in New Zealand.

On behalf of the ZANZ Committee, I thank you for your continued support and look forward to working together for the benefit of our community and future generations.

Ushta Te,

Tehmus Mistry
