Thirty-Four Seniors attended the Coffee Group event.

Seniors had jolly time meeting each other and catching up with all the talks since they met after 2 months. The morning began with a round of tea and coffee along with biscuits, chips & chewda.

Our seniors Darayas & Gool Vevaina brought pendas for all.

The usual round of housie was played and toffees were given out as prizes.

One of our seniors donated a box of biscuits which was given away as a prize in housie.

Since there were many new seniors attending this time, we had a round of introduction.

This July session we celebrated birthdays of Rati Contractor, Noshir Elavia, Ketty Fitter, Dali Mehta, Mani Mowji, Tehmurasp Munshi, Darayas Vevaina, Roda Ibrahim & Coomi Rustomjee.

Our volunteers for the day were Merzi Daruwalla, Navaz Engineer, Benifer Irani, Tanaz Naoroji and Anaheeta Sethna.

This session’s hall charges was sponsored by an anonymous family in remembrance of their beloved mother.

Twenty Three Seniors attended the Coffee Group event.

For the seniors, the day starts with having chai. So it was tea / coffee along sev & yoghurt.

The usual rounds of housie was played and toffees were given out as prizes.

We had lunch, mora dal chaval and prawn patio followed by falooda.
All food was sponsored by ZANZ to our seniors on the occasion of Jamshedi Navroze.

A couple of rounds of antakshari were also played.

This session we celebrated the birthday of our senior Behram Patel.

Our volunteers for the day were Tanaz Naoroji, Kashmira Kambatta, Merzi Daruwalla and Anaheeta Sethna.

Nineteen Seniors attended the Coffee Group event.

For the seniors, the day started with usual tea / coffee rounds.
They were served delicious ravo and vadas which was kindly sponsored by Dinyar & Faranak Kabir.

The usual rounds of housie was played and toffees were given out as prizes.

A couple of rounds of antakshari were also played.

This session we celebrated the birthday of our seniors Ms Roshan Palia & Ms. Khorshed Sethna.
Our seniors Ms Perviz Driver, Ms Arnavaz Irani & Ms Perviz Mogrelia also celebrated their birthdays but were unable to attend the session.

We started with the tea/coffee session, followed by ravo from our senior Mr. Dali Mehta.

We got the seniors to play few games of housie which they were awaiting for, especially the glow on their faces when they claim their “chocolate” prizes.

Our seniors sang melodiously in a game of antakshari.

They also played “passing the parcel” and our winner was Aban Chinoy.

Lunch for this session was sponsored by the Elavia family, and the seniors had delicious chicken curry rice and salad.

This session we celebrated the birthday of our senior Ms Nergish Tata.
Our seniors Ms Perin Daruwalla, Ms Dilnavaz Munshi & Ms Mana Vazifdar also celebrated their birthdays but were unable to attend the session. The cake was brought by Benifer Irani.

P.S. : Our senior attendee, Ms. Mana Vazifdar’s birthday was celebrated by her family at the Lansdowne Rest Home. Most of our seniors attended her birthday party.

We had the usual round of tea/coffee followed by delicious bhelpuri made by Faranak Kabir. Everyone enjoyed the Mumbai style sweet and spicy bhelpuri.

We also had a moment of silence for the departed soul of Mr Minoo Panveliwalla (Daruwalla).

This session we had Ms. Shamin come to give our seniors Tai-Chi lessons. All our seniors, very attentively, exercised as per her instructions. Enjoying the light work-out.

Obviously we cannot end without a few games of housie, which were played and chocolates won as prizes.

We celebrated the birthday of our senior Ms. Roshan Irani.

The Sixth Senior Citizens’ Coffee Group for the year 2017 was held on 16th July 2017 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Howick Recreation Centre.

We had 13 seniors attended this enjoyable the event.

It was started off with the usual round of tea/coffee and snacks. Of course, no Senior Citizens Coffee Group would be complete without a few rounds of their favourite games of housie and antakshari. As usual there was notable talent on display and winners were awarded their all-time favourite prize of chocolates.

The games were followed by lunch of delicious Palau dal and Lagan nu Custer. A big thank you to a member (who chooses not to be named) of our community who sponsored this event.

On the day, we celebrated the Roj birthday of our senior Mrs. Shirin Balsara who turned 94.

In July, we celebrated the birthdays of Thrity Mistry, Minoo Daruwalla, Kate Daruwalla, Katy Irani, Maharukh Lavangia, Gool Vevaina.

We wish all of them a wonderful year ahead filled with good health, love and enjoyment with family and friends.

We would like to thank all the main volunteers, namely, Roshni Daruwalla, Faranak Kabir, Cyrus Mehta, Rati Mehta, Navaz Engineer, Tanaz Naoroji and others who helped on the day.

Our next session will be held on 27 August 2017 from 10am – to about 3:00pm. Morning tea and lunch will be served.
